Most birds are French.
"Oui! Oui!" they say.
But doves are Italian,
Or so they proclaim.
I don't believe them thought.
They're just trying to get me into their nest.

Pigeons are from the Middle East—
Dressed in gray robes,
And Pelicans are Japanese.
They bow their heads respectfully,
They don't talk much,
But I know they're listening.

Mocking birds are British.
And I think sparrows speak Quechua:
"Shshshshsh!" They spray me while chirping.

Vultures originate in Manhattan - we all know that.
And blue jays, with their conical hats, are Celts.
The eagle, I must say, is a shaman.
I never see or hear him,
But I can feel his presence.
